I have so enjoyed looking through your photographs. You have a definite love for your area and nothing is to mundane or ordinary to grace your collection...I love the real everyday you capture as well as the awesome and quirky....thank you for sharing.

Hi, I LOVE magnolias too and have always been intrigued by them. I live in the suburbs of Chicago and was only able to appreciate the smaller ones they have here...but just a few weeks ago, I went to San Antonio, Texas and finally got to photograph one of the flowers from the tree. The ones that grow in the south, do they grow year long or is it just during the spring? I would love to go back to just photograph them again when I have more time and I would love to have them in my yard too:)

Sincerely,
samantha

Hope you and your family and friends are well after Ike. I know the city is a mess but will rebuild strong and mighty once again. I am from Abilene and we consider Galveston our second home. We go on cruises almost yearly and we spend Spring Break there. We love just about eveything, from the old houses, the downtown area, The Strand and the beaches. We will be back as soon as possible. I know we are going on a cruise, hopefully, the end of the year. Whether we leave from Galveston or Houston is unclear but I know we will travel to Galveston and check on our favorite vacation spot. Hope eveyone recovers soon!

I agree with you too. I absolutely love Magnolias. You are so lucky to have a huge yard to accomodate this tree. I wish they wouldn't die so quickly, though. The fragrance is absolutely to die for! There is nothing else like it in the world...it smells so beautiful and elegant.

Hi Pat,

I loved peaking at your images! Thanks for the inspiration. I took my camera on a little journey around the yard to finish off a roll of film from the Disc Golf Tournament on Saturday.

It was such a delight to connect with you and George.

Hugs, love and blessings,
Donna & Don

Beautiful pictures... the thing I love the most is how you have captured our Island. It reminds me of my childhood here. Waking up each morning to the call of the Seaguls and the smell of the magnolia tree in my Grandmother's front yard. Thanks for the beautiful memories your pictures have stirred.
